I was looking to buy a netbook for my upcoming travels as I did not want to bring my 14″ laptop as well as planning on doing some writing outdoors.
After doing quite some research and reading, I narrowed down to Acer Aspire One AO533 and Asus Eee PC 1015PED (there are so many models within Asus that could get quite confusing.) Finding a Youtube video of over 500K+ views on how to install the 2GB memory on an Acer definitely discouraged me as how easy one might break a wire, in addition to automatically void the warranty as soon as you open up the case.
I am aware of those who have issues with Asus customer service as well as buying a lemon. But the usability and the really long battery power really made me decide to take a chance / leap of faith.
The matte shell and screen make the machine a perfect companion on the road, especially when using it outdoors. There are a lot fewer fingerprints and a lot less glare which are more suiting for the eyes.
The machine boots up very quickly and has a very bright screen. I was initially a bit worried about the chiclet keys, whether there might be too much space among the keys but it turned out the space was minimal and works well for me. The location of the special keys is similar to my SONY VAIO so it did not take much time for me to get adjusted to the smaller keyboard.
After successfully installing the final part of pre-installed Windows 7 Starter and confirming the machine was working correctly (took about 10 to 15 minutes), I went ahead and downloaded all the drivers from Asus Download site, including the latest BIOS as I would be reformatting the drive and installing Windows 7 Professional. At the time the direct BIOS upgrade from the internet did not work but downloading and installing the file did. Also note that the drivers are not always sorted by the version and you have to look at each one carefully to download the latest version.
The machine runs quite well even with just 1GB memory except with the more frequent hard drive access.
I then upgraded the memory to 2GB with Crucial DDR3 1333. Crucial Memory Advisor tool will guide you to the right memory and I like how the company guarantees the compatibility. I had tried a few others (Super Talent and Hynix) and my machine either would not recognize and boot up, would not boot up after restarting the machine, or I had to wait for a few minutes after shutdown before being able to reboot. The Amazon’s “Frequently Bought Together” incorrectly picked DDR2 memory as part of the package. It should have been DDR3 instead. There is a separate door just for the memory so the upgrade was a breeze and you just have to make sure you push the memory all the way into the slot (seating.) To confirm I also hit F2 when starting the machine to validate it is loaded with 2GB memory. The additional memory did not dramatically increase the performance though it definitely significantly decreases the usage of the hard drive.
While the machine works overall very well to my needs (internet and a few MS apps), I did find the touch pad to be overly sensitive. I downloaded and installed the latest ELAN and Synaptics TouchPad drivers and was then able to change the Palm Tracking Setting to less sensitive. The large smooth touch pad that causes the accidental and easily palm over makes the touchpad almost useless unless you have the netbook way sitting below your palm when typing.
Battery wise it’s about 7 to around 10 hours of normal usage (surfing, documents, installing and running software, etc.) which is extremely good. Though I did find the machine was getting quite warm after about 5 hours of usage and when charging the battery. The battery charger also gets quite hot after a few hours of charging. The battery meter is somewhat accurate on the overall percentage but does fluctuate every few minutes or and can easily go up and down +/- 10 to 20 minutes.
The following were the steps I took to install Windows 7 Professional that should work in general:
1) Use a 4GB USB drive (any drive that has 3GB or more), format it through Windows Explorer with NTFS
2) Download and install MBRWizard. Open up command prompt and type: mbrwiz /list
3) Find the Disk number that belongs to the USB drive (usually 1 or higher as 0 is most likely your system / primary drive. Run the command: mbrwiz /disk=1 /active=1
In this case 1 is the USB drive. Type “Y” to confirm. Run this command again to confirm the drive is active: mbrwiz /list
4) Run the following command to set the USB drive to be bootable:
e:\boot\bootsect /nt60 D:
E: being the Windows 7 CD drive and D: being the USB drive
5) Copy all Windows 7 Professional files to the USB drive.
6) Copy all contents from the current netbook C: drive to the USB drive as a backup.
7) Download all drivers from Asus Download site to the USB drive. Also download anti-virus / firewall software such as AVG and ZoneAlarm to the USB drive.
With the USB drive plugged in, reboot machine and hit F2 to get into BIOS setting. In Boot -> Boot Settings. You will now see Boot Device Priority and Hard Disk Drives. Choosing Removable Device as the first boot priority would not work since the USB drive is actually categorized as a hard drive instead. Choose Hard Drive Disks and you will see the USB drive as well as the C: drive. Move the USB drive to the first priority and have the hard drive (C:) as second. Keep the first boot priority as Hard Disk.
9) Follow the Windows formatting and installing. Make sure you unplug the USB drive when Windows restarts after completing the installation and hit F2 to change the BIOS setting back to using C: as the first hard drive.
10) Install all the drivers especially the screen resolution, ELAN and Synaptics touch pad devices, latest BIOS, firewall and anti-virus programs.
11) Install the LAN driver and you should be good to go.

I purchased this for a large party I was throwing for a friends new job promotion. I already have other drink machines including margarita, smoothie, super automatic espresso and a chilled wine cellar. Adding the BeerTender to the mix seemed a good fit. I looked at several machines, read many reviews and it came down to this one. I liked this one for many reasons, convenience (very quick and easy to place kegs in, no configuration or messing with carbonation), the look, great in my kitchen. The BeerTender was a hit, many people were amazed it was a keg dispenser, only because it looks too nice. I went through 4 of the Heineken kegs that evening.
The machine itself works very well, only the first glass of each new keg had foam, after that no foam issue at all, it is in how you poor, not rocket science. Really, there is no problem with foam as some reviewers wrote about, I can honestly say this because I watched other people use the machine in front of me and no one had this issue at all. The machine kept the beer at 36 degrees, it always poured a cold beer. They quickness in pulling out a keg and replacing could not be easier.
I am glad I bought this, will mostly only be used for parties large and small, so it may only get use once a month for an evening, it really makes an impression and the beer has a good flavor. On this topic, I have asked liquor stores to see if they can get other types of beer, I know there are only a couple other brands (I believe under the Heineken brand) as I have seen them on other web pages with the BeerTender logo. All the liquor stores act surprised when I ask this as they believe it is Heineken only, but I know there are others in CA, MI and the Chicago area. Each store said they would ask their suppliers.
I would buy this again, and I recommend this on the fact that it does exactly what it states on the box, it is of very good quality. I bought the B95.

Pros
Build: The juicer is heavy and solid. I doubt that I could harm it, even if I had such intents. I anticipate many years of fresh juice from it. It can be unwieldy, and may go after a fingertip or two, until you learn to position the citrusy victims just so.
Design: It has a few elegant design touches to ensure that use and clean-up is simple. The two removable pieces are sturdy, with a simple locking mechanism to ensure that they don’t slide around with each press. The rest of the frame can simply be sprayed off. Awesome!
Taste: If you like fresh juice, then you know there’s no debate about the difference in taste. This one produces much richer, more flavorful juice compared to the small hand-held juicer we had, but I can’t compare its output to those of other similar models.
Pulp: The tray is slotted so as prevent pulp from sneaking into the juice. For those that like pulp, and don’t mind the occasional seed, simply dump the accumulated pulp into the juice container. This is a simple design solution that lets everyone have their way in the pulp/no-pulp debate.
Cons
Juice-catcher: This is a minor point, but we hunted around to find a container of decent volume for catching the juice. On the other hand, this could be a pro: there’s no included container/ carafe that has to be replaced, as with coffee makers.
Pith: I am sensitive to the hint of pith, having concocted many inedible dishes with more pith than zest. I can occasionally detect the bitterness of pith in the juice. This likely results from the complete annihilation of the juiced halves, which are usually split and mangled after one meeting with the press.

I purchased this watch 5 weeks ago from elsewhere – it has been a great Buying experience. I’d Buy it again. I only paid .99 for it, and it is still available at that price.
We just got back from Belize and the Blue Hole. It worked GREAT as my backup, allowing me to use it to update my dive log (Max Depth, Bottom Time, min Water Temp), while I left my dive computer/reg and BCD with the dive shop. I never had to press any of its buttons under water, though I am sure that some of them got pressed inadvertently as I moved around – it still works. I got into the habit of parking my gauge/computer under the right side of my BCD, while using quick glances at the watch to check my depth and dive time (to know when the dive master was going to call us to go up to the safety stop). It was wonderful convenience that left both of my hands free, without fear of destroying the coral if my dive computer swung down, etc. I also think that diving hands-free must be safer. It also beeps if you are going up too fast – it can be aggravating at first, but it absolutely taught me good (safe) habit of coming up slower. As such, I’d consider it an absolute MUST HAVE safety equipment for a new diver, not yet used to perfect control of their buoyancy. Every diver who saw it wanted one as soon as they heard the price and functionality. Why ruin an otherwise perfect dive when you can use this and your dive charts (by the book)? My wife loved it as well. Lastly, I wore it for 2 weeks solid while I was awake (and the prior week at the office) – you get used to it (and it helps build up your arm

I was looking for a unit that would only show coordinates in a format of my choice and in a selected datum and it seems that the 72H is the closest to what I had in mind, but it does many other things that I don’t really want and it is much bigger than I wanted. Nevertheless, satellite lock time is excellent (unless the WAAS is enabled which gives a little better precision at the expense of greater power drain and much greater satellite lock time), position lock is precise, battery life is great and the unit will stand up to some abuse. I have accidentally sprayed the GPS with DEET-based insect repellent and it didn’t hurt the plastic. I’m not going to do it again, but I have a 2-way radio that’d got a bunch of freckles after a similar accident.
It is important to understand that the 72H is not a mapping GPS. It has a “map” screen, but the screen shows only waypoints and the coordinate grid (in degrees/minutes based on WGS84, even if UTM coordinates are set to be shown). Get a printed map if you want to use the unit for navigation. Finding USGS benchmarks or geocaches can be done without a map but you must start in reasonably close to whatever you want to find; then, the unit will draw an arrow pointing at the selected waypoint.
I’m giving the unit 5 stars but this doesn’t mean that it is perfect. Some things could have been done more user-friendly. Backlight is my biggest complaint – there is no way of turning it on and off at will; instead, brightness is selected by repeatedly pressing the on/off button, after which all buttons, including the on/off, will turn on the backlight which will stay on for a few seconds.
When NiMH batteries are used, the battery indicator shows that freshly charged batteries are about half-drained; probably, because of the lower voltage. Selecting the type of batteries in the settings (or testing their internal resistance) and showing the level based on the type would be a considerable improvement.
